COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND
INFORMATION
The primary focus of the Public
Education Department is to promote fire and life
safety -- primarily among Windsor's school age
children.
The mission of public education
is to reduce unintentional injuries and the loss
of life and property from fire, accidents and
natural disasters by increasing public awareness
to hazards and how to mitigate them. To accomplish these goals,
Public Information Officers
organizes, schedules and maintains a range of
programs for people of diverse age groups. You are likely to
see them at your child's school, at community
meetings and at community events.
Our Officers
also work with the news media and serve as the
Windsor Fire Department spokesperson at fire
and emergency scenes.
